Amanda Sutherland – Artist Bio

Amanda Sutherland is a Tasmanian theatre-maker, writer, and performer whose work explores the intersections of family, identity, and technology. She is currently developing Artificially Interrupted, an original play that interrogates the role of AI in domestic life, balancing dark thematic undertones with accessibility for all ages.

Her creative practice spans theatre, film, and television. Amanda has worked in props for a television commercial, appeared as a background extra in TV series and short films, and taken on the role of production manager for a short film. Alongside this screen work, she performs with Launceston Improv Theatre and supports its growth through marketing and web administration.

Amanda’s artistry extends behind the scenes with skills in prop and costume design, complemented by her ongoing training in sound and lighting. With experience across playwriting, performance, production, and design, she brings a multi-disciplinary perspective to every project. Amanda is passionate about creating work that sparks conversation, builds community, and invites audiences into shared moments of discovery.
